| Description: Colt Model 1849 Percussion Revolver .31 calibre 4 inch barrel with five shot cylinder; barrel stamped: - “ADDRESS SAML COLT/ NEW YORK CITY”; attractive patina to ironwork with the usual nicks and scrapes for a pistol this age; slight pitting evident to barrel & cylinder due to probable long ago damp holster storage; balance of cylinder shows a good scene; back strap and trigger guard retain much of their original silver plating showing old tarnish; good original screws and original varnished walnut grip; Serial No. 58784 all matching including wedge; good working action; manufactured early in 1853, this is a good affordable example of an unmolested gold rush Colt revolver. $950. 00 |
