| Description: MEDIA RELEASE Thursday 7 June 2012 The Australian Olympic Committee has today announced the shooting section of the 2012 Australian Olympic Team. 17 athletes will compete across the 15 Olympic events in pistol, rifle, and shotgun, all to be held at the Royal Artillery Barracks at Woolwich, London. The shooting team contains a strong mix of youth and experience, which is best encapsulated by the selection of David Chapman (SA) and his daughter Hayley Chapman (SA) in the pistol events. The Chapmans will make Australian Olympic history by becoming the first Australian father and daughter combination to compete at the same Olympic Games in any sport, a fact which is not lost on Hayley. |
