FRANCOTTE PRYSE D.A. ‘STOPPING REVOLVER’:
Chambered in 577. 5 shot fluted cylinder; 6 1/4" octagonal barrel with solid rib. Bore is a little dull and externally spotted with light pitting patches but rifling remains sharply defined. The metalwork has been polished to a bright silver finish. Parts of the frame trigger, guard, hammer and other small parts have been painted with strong gold finish, There is a faint Liege proof to lhs of barrel; top of rib has been engraved with ALEXR HENRY. 12 SOUTH ST. ANDREW ST. EDINBURGH; rhs of barrel engraved .620 BORE; action locks up a loose, cylinder indexing but not locking in place; saw handle walnut grip with rounded butt, chequered has been poorly recut but presents decent overall given it is a Pre 1900 handgun.
