For sale on consignment, a cased Cogswell and Harrison side by side box lock non-ejector double rifle in .375 2 ½” Nitro Express.
London Proof House marks to the action flats are stamped ‘375 EX’ and nitro proofed for 40 gns Cordite - 270 gn bullet.
Unblued plain action, locks up tight, clean standing breech with disc set strikers.
Trigger guard shows old reblue. Barrels have very good old reblue with fair to good shootable bores with well-defined lands.
Original big game V rear sights with standing 100 yard and folding 200 and 300 yard leaves.
Professionally restocked in nicely contrasting grain walnut, uncapped pistol grip and splinter forend, both with flat topped checkering in excellent condition, fitted with brown rubber recoil pad.
Cased in a leather, correct period case with a Cogswell & Harrison trade label, barrel compartment needing to be re-blocked to fit.
Complete with reloading dies and cases. A proven and accurate shooter from a highly regarded London maker. Very good working condition.
