SMITH AND WILLETT CLAIM GOLD AND EQUAL THE WORLD RECORD IN THE TRAP MIXED TEAM FINALS IN CHINA! 🥇
After shooting a world record equalling Trap Mixed Team qualifying score of 149/150, Australia Team 1 - Penny Smith and James Willet, have just won the gold medal in the Trap Mixed Team Finals in Hangzhou.
Beating out the home favourite athletes from China, Smith and Willett shot a finals score of 37/40, equalling the Trap Mixed Team’s Final world record set by James Willett and Catherine Skinner in Lonato just two weeks ago!
A successful conclusion to the team’s Chinese World Cup campaign, this win marks Australia’s second medal of the tournament alongside Kiara Dean’s Bronze medal in the Women’s Trap event.
