Description
LITHGOW MKIII 1941 303 BRITISH- A very nice example of an Australian made rifle for the collector or range shooter. The rifle has matching numbers wrist, bolt and nose cone. The stock has been replaced at some stage with a 1942 butt stock. The wood work is all in very good condition. Bore is not pitted and rifling looks good. It has been set up for range work with the Lane aperture sight. These rifles were made in an era that saw Australia in a very perilous situation in WW2. The Japanese were at our doorstep. Australian industry was responsible for arming our troops, who held and then turned back this threat. History is being sadly forgotten in this modern age. These firearms keep history alive and remembers the sacrifices that generation made for us today.
