Pair of Pocket Pistols Marked Hallick

A pair of flintlock pocket pistols engraved ‘Hallick’, that appear to be in an unfired condition. Little is known about Hallick apart from an entry dated 18 November 1791 in the London Metropolitan Archives for the Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group. The entry reads ‘Thomas Hallick, Harborough, Leicestershire, Gunsmith’. The .45 caliber, round, screw-off, smoothbore barrels measure 2 ½ inches while the pistols measure just under 7 ½ inches each. One barrel screws off easily while the other is currently stuck fast. Both pistols have clear London Proofs. The right side of each pistol is engraved with a flower and left side with ‘Hallick’ in cursive script. The actions on both pistols are stiff but still in working order. Note that one of the triggers has been reshaped to accommodate a broken final. The slab sided grips are in good condition with some handling marks. The metal to wood fit is excellent with no movement. All in all a sharp pair of flintlocks in good condition that appear unfired. Sold as collector items only.
