When the 17 Win. Super Magnum rimfire load was under development, Savage accepted the challenge of designing an entirely new rimfire rifle from the ground up. The Savage B.MAG isn"t simply a re-chambered version of an existing platform; it"s a whole new class of rimfire rifle.
The high velocities of these new loads led us to design features into this rimfire that are typically reserved for our centerfire rifles. In order to maximize accuracy in this long-range shooter, we have utilized our unique thread-in barrel headspacing system, rear-locking lugs and a cock-on-close bolt. Of course, we would never dream of engineering an accuracy machine like the B.MAG without capping it off with our legendary, light, crisp AccuTrigger.
