Selling for a collector/customer his well-maintained W W Greener shotgun serial no. 30694 which according to W W greener records was started in 1884 and finished the following year. They go on to say their records do not sometimes distinguish between certain types of guns, but in this case the shotgun is recorded as a hammerless shotgun. It is a grade 3 gun with concave rib with the manufacture’s details engraved, front brass bead and it is a non-ejector Facile Princeps type with Damascus barrels in 12 bore with 30-inch barrels.

The gun was proved for black powder cartridges not longer than 2-1/2 inches only and so should not be used with modern nitro cartridges. Both barrels were fully choked when made hence the 13B and 14M stamps on the barrels and NOT FOR BALL marks which were used by the Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof house at the time your gun was tested.

This is a beautifully made higher grade vintage W W greener London England shotgun in period case with cleaning great and accessories and apart from one small mark on the barrel which grades it at very good ( otherwise it would be classed as excellent) it still locks up very tight and has superb well figured timber.
