This firearm has been sporterized and modified to turn a military collectable firearm into a lighter, hunting firearm.
The barrel has been shortened and re-crowned, fitted with new iron sights, installed where the original ones were.
The bore is clean of fouling or rust, with the rifling in good condition for a 124 year old firearm. The exception to this that light pitting along the entire length of the barrel from years of shooting.
The stock and bluing is in good condition for its age, suggesting that at some stage they were re-finished, possibly when the new recoil pad was fitted.
