A good pair of Queen Anne, screw off barrel, flintlock pistols in the truncated form. The pistols were made by London gunsmith Richard Wilson around 1750. Wilson is recorded as operating in London from 1730 to 1766.
The three stage, .58 caliber, screw off, cannon barrel measures 5 ¼ inches. The distance from the touch hole to the muzzle is 6 ½ inches and overall, the pistols measure 12 ½ inches each.
The breach on each pistol is deeply struck with the Richard Wilson ‘RW’ gunmaker’s mark and the London Gunmakers’ Company proof view marks.
The locks and cocks have boarder line engraving with some very delicate engraving on the lock tails and ‘WILSON’ under the flash pans. Both actions are in good working order.
The cocks and top jaws may be replacements as their patina does not quite match the rest of the lock patina. If they are replacements then they were expertly done.
The furniture is all brass and features the grotesque pug nose face butt cap, side plate with a hound emerging from some leafy foliage and vacant wrist echelons.
Both the truncated stocks are in a good solid condition with some noticeable wear evident. See photos.
Sold as collectables only.
Price includes shipping within Australia, layby available.

Antique guns for sale in Australia
Steel & Shot, authentic antique arms, takes pleasure in filling a special niche for the antique arms collectors of Australia. Depending on availability our offerings are sourced locally and overseas. They range from before the time of Cook’s voyages up to the Kelly era with items to suit the beginner through to the investor.
As a hobby business Steel & Shot has grown out of a love and fascination [my long suffering wife would say ”obsession”] with antique arms. I am fascinated by the technical innovation and development, along with the history and artistry of these objects and artefacts.
