Unusual find & all matching numbers!
This beautiful Browning FN Model 1922 is a pistol made by Fabrique Nationale d’Armes de Guerre (National Factory of Weapons of War, or FN) prior to the German occupation we believe based on the serial number, available information & proof marks.
This unique example is a commercial gun which correctly does not have the lanyard ring & only shows the Belgian commercial proof marks. Curiously, this features the later wartime checkered walnut grips. Early Bakelite grips were notoriously brittle so we assume these were swapped out post war?
The overall condition is excellent as can be seen in the photos. The markings are clear & legible plus grips are in very good condition while the bore is sharp & shiny.
Here is a fantastic & unusual pistol from the World War 2 era chambered in 7.65mm (.32 cal) which is one for the collector of rare & unusual 20th Century handguns.
We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description. You will know if this is for you so view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.
We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional.
Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
This will be arriving soon as part of our next import from Germany which we expect to be early 2026 but may even be here before the fat guy & can be purchased with a deposit which is refundable if the gun is not as described when it arrives.
A period correct leather holster is available to go with if desired & this can be discussed with the new owner.
