For sale, on consignment, a superb example of the Arrieta Model 601 12 bore single trigger, sidelock ejector shotgun.
Hand made in 2001, in Arrieta’s Elgoibar work rooms this Model 601 presents in excellent, gently used condition.

Eight pin re-enforced action sidelock
Crisp, single non-selective trigger
Side clips and Disc-set strikers
Gold inlaid cocking indicators
Firm right-hand top lever
Manual safety button to top tang
Tasteful border engraving to side and base plates and trigger guard – slight loss of blue to bottom tang
Stock
Beautifully figured walnut – Arrieta source the finest walnut timber from Spain, Turkey and California – slight cast off for the right hand shot
Pistol grip with tear drops and crisp, classic point-pattern chequering
Length of Pull to centre is 14 1/8” or 360 mm including soft recoil pad and spacer
Well figured walnut beaver-tail forend – again with crisp classic point pattern chequering
Firm engraved Anson style push rod release latch
Barrels
Side by side 26 ½ ” or 67.5 mm blued steel barrels
Perfect bright mirror bores gauge .726” and .726” 9” from the breech
Sound raised matt rib with brass bead fore sight
Five Briley thin wall flush chokes .705, .715, .715, .720 and .720
70mm or 2 ¾” chambers

The date code 26-01 indicates the gun was the 26th gun finished in 2001 by this world renowned maker.
Eibar Proof House marks show the gun was nitro-proven for superior or magnum 1200 bar loads.
This shotgun presents in excellent, gently used condition – with only the slightest cosmetic handling and storage marks. The barrels fit tightly on the standing breech.
The shotgun comes in an Arrieta brass cornered, leather fitted case with oil bottle, snap caps cleaning rod, mop, brush and jag – as well as the Briley choke wrench.
Altogether a lovely, fast-handling game gun.
