A period conversion of a genuine Napoleonic war horse. The British pattern, 1794 light cavalry, flintlock pistol.
The .65 calibre, round, unsighted, smoothbore barrel measures the standard 9 inches with the whole pistol measuring 15 inches. The bore is in a good but dusty condition.
The partially border engraved, flat lock is also clearly engraved with ‘TOWER’ and the Crowned ‘GR’. The lock is in excellent working order but the nipple is dry fire damaged and the leading lock screw protrudes from the lock plate.
The regulation brass furniture is in very good condition.
While the walnut stock is in a good used condition any ordnance markings are no longer clearly visible. The brass tipped rammer appears original to the pistol but is now missing the last 2 inches.
Sold as a collector item only.
Price includes postage in Australia, layby available.

About Us
Antique guns for sale in Australia
Steel & Shot, authentic antique arms, takes pleasure in filling a special niche for the antique arms collectors of Australia. Depending on availability our offerings are sourced locally and overseas. They range from before the time of Cook’s voyages up to the Kelly era with items to suit the beginner through to the investor.
As a hobby business Steel & Shot has grown out of a love and fascination [my long suffering wife would say ”obsession”] with antique arms. I am fascinated by the technical innovation and development, along with the history and artistry of these objects and artefacts.
If any of these items are of interest, or you just want to chat about antique arms, drop us a line or two via the contact page.
