For sale, on consignment, a superb example of the Arrieta Model 803 20 bore sidelock ejector shotgun in an Arrieta leather case with accessories and two sets of barrels.
Hand made in 2000, in Arrieta’s Elgoibar work shop this Model 803 – Arrieta’s top-selling model - presents in excellent, gently used condition.

Gold inlaid cocking indicators
Firm, engraved fences and right-hand top lever
Manual safety button to top tang
Magnificent Purdey style rose and scroll hand engraving – probably by Eduardo Arambura, Arrieta’s then Chief Engraver – to side plates, fences and base plates, trigger guard
Stock
Beautifully figured European walnut – Arrieta source the finest walnut timber from Spain, Turkey and California – very slight cast off for right hand shot
Straight English grip with tear drops and crisp, classic point-pattern chequering
Length of Pull to centre is 14 ½” or 370 mm
Chequered butt with engraved heel and toe plates
Well figured walnut splinter forend – again with crisp classic point pattern chequering
Firm engraved Anson style release latch and forend iron
Barrels
Two sets of side by side 26 ½” or 67.5 cm chopper lump steel barrels with deep gloss blue
Perfect bright mirror bores
Sound tapered game ribs with brass bead fore sights
Barrel 1 fixed chokes Cylinder and Improved Cylinder
Barrel 2 fixed chokes Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified
70mm or 2 ¾” chambers
Strong, well-timed ejectors
The manufacturer has kindly advised the gun was finished in 2000 – being the 274th gun they produced that year.
Eibar Proof House marks show the gun was nitro-proven for 1200 bar loads.
This shotgun presents in excellent, well maintained condition – with only the slightest cosmetic handling and storage marks. The barrels fit tightly on the standing breech.
The shotgun comes in a Arrieta brass cornered, leather fitted case with snap caps, cartridge extractor, oil bottle, cleaning rod, jag, mop and brush.
