Manufactured by Miroku of Japan for Browning Arms Company. The BLR Lightweight features a unique rotary bolt head that provides bolt-action locking strength in a lever-action package. Unlike tube-fed levers, the detachable magazine allows safe use of spitzer bullets.
SCOPE: Leupold VX-3i 1.5-5x20mm (current production, valued at approximately $450 new). Low magnification range is ideal for the .358's close-range brush gun role. Fast target acquisition in thick cover where sambar are typically encountered.
THE .358 WINCHESTER: An underrated powerhouse. Essentially a .35-calibre .308 Winchester case necked up to accept 9.1mm bullets.
Delivers significantly more energy than its parent case. Excellent for sambar in thick Victorian bush or feral pigs at close range.
CONDITION: Very good throughout. Bore excellent with sharp rifling.
Action smooth with tight lever lockup. Attractive walnut stock with crisp diamond-pattern checkering. Some light handling marks consistent with careful field use. Scope glass clear, adjustments functional.
