This beautiful old school Winchester Model 70 chambered in the excellent deer hunting cartridge of .270W was purchased from the original owner who bought it new in 2007 & has been a safe queen ever since. The owner told us he sighted it in with 2 rounds & hadn’t touched it other than to maintain it since but decided to sell due to simply not using it (with a little pressure from the wife).
In support of his claim, the jewelling on the bolt body is almost untouched indicating minimal usage & of course the barrel is as close to perfect as we would like to say.
The scope is a clear Bushnell Elite 2.5-10×40 made in Japan, see pics.
As you’d know, the Winchester Model 70 is a classic which is immediately clear with the quality checkering on the American walnut stock & the rich, deep high gloss blued finish which is almost black!
Being a modern gun, this rifle has the Winchester controlled feed as opposed to the push feed of the previous generation of Model 70's.
This is priced to sell & would absolutely suit a new gun buyer for sure.
It's our opinion (just that, an opinion) that this gun is of a higher quality build than the modern replacement which will cost you well over $3,300 & does not have the deep, rich blueing or the high gloss American walnut Monte Carlo stock.
We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description.
