Finnish Winter War Relic, Finn capture, SA (Suomen Armeija) marked rare Soviet Tula Arsenal M91/30 Model 1936 Sniper with desirable PEM scope and side mount secured with two pins, two screws and two locking screws.
Stamped with the 1938 date and Tula Star "CH" sniper arsenal stamp on top of the chamber. Mechanically excellent with a proper, sniper tuned trigger. The bolt is original sniper the rifle is matching, the scope mount and 1939 Russian PEM scope re-arsenaled by SA and numbered differently,which is common for Finn capture rifles.
Condition is good for its age and history, having gone through active frontline sniper service in the Winter 1939 and Continuation 1941 wars, showing areas of brown and gray patina, mild spotting and handling marks. The stock is good-ish, with a small crack on the front and a number of scuffs and dents.The optics are a bit hazy consistent with the age.
This sniper rifle was imported by us from Finland and came out of a retired Finnish Army officer's collection.
The 91/30 mod1936 PEM were also highly prized by the Red Army and German Wehrmacht snipers. Vasily Zaitsev was issued one of those in Stalingrad in 1942 (kept in a Stalingrad Museum)
