No.4 MkI* Lee Enfield made by SAVAGE in 1942
Matching numbers on action and bolt.
Presumed to be an ex Service Target Rifle as evidenced by the screw fitted to butt stock socket which would have been to secure an aperture target sight mounting plate. Also appears to be stamped with the round Lithgow inspection mark.
Nice wood stocks, Mk1 micrometer-type rear sight, and shiny barrel which stops a .304" barrel gauge at muzzle.
