Offered for sale is this great example of the iconic Aussie WW2 battle rifle, the SMLE .303 which is in very good condition as can be seen in the photos.

All numbers match including the wood, barrel, action, rear sight, bolt & nose cap plus the bore is shiny with deep rifling, so definitely a shooter.

It is complete with the original oiler & pull through which as you probably know are usually lost over the years.

The stock has 1943 & the action is stamped 1942 which is not unusual & easily explained by the fact that the action was manufactured in 1942 & final assembly occurred in 1943.

On this stock is painted the number 7 which we assume was a rack or armoury number.

This would make an excellent centrepiece of your collection or the best possible start to one.

We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be so we’ll let the pictures be the description.
