For sale, on consignment, an exceptionally fine example of the Sako L61R “Finnbear” bolt action repeating rifle chambered in .264 Winchester Magnum.
Manufactured by Sako from around 1961 to 1973, these long-range hunting rifles are highly regarded for their accuracy and reliability.
Action: Right hand – long action – bolt action
Barrel: Gloss blued 66 cm or 26” Bofors Steel barrel
Sights: Ramped blade bead foresight [sight hood not present] and adjustable rear sight. Sako dovetail rail for scope mounts.
Magazine: Integral four round magazine with magazine hinged floor plate
Stock: One piece well figured European walnut with pistol grip and right-hand cheek piece and sling swivels
Length of Pull: About 13 ¾” to centre including recoil pad
Overall Length: About 117.5 cm or 46 ¼”
This rifle presents in excellent, barely used very well-maintained condition.
The finish on the metal and wood work is excellent – only the slightest handling/storage marks.
Crisp trigger. Clean, bright bore with sharp rifling. Bright, clean bolt face. Super smooth bolt action feeds and ejects flawlessly.
110 hand loaded roads and two boxes of Winchester cartridges included – local collection only. Neck spacer die included.
