This Enfield Mk1 Bren gun is understood to be exchanged from England to be used by Australian troops in WW2 replacing the Australian Lewis guns which were subject to sand and dust in the desert battle locations. Back here in Australia at some stage it was used as a DP Bren. However further to that stage it was fully restored and not reused again. It was fitted with a brand new Mk11 barrel which is still in new condition. All parts internal and external are like new and its operation is perfect. The gas port area is also like new. There is no signs of neglect or rusting on any of the components. The woodwork is still in original but military used condition. Requires Cat E Licence.
